Public School teachers post classroom project requests on DonorsChoose.org. The projects are then funded by donors who browse and give any amount that inspires them. Once a project reaches its funding goal, the materials are delivered to the school. Check It Out - 65% of the projects posted are funded. Build a Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation will make grants to qualified non-profit organizations that support the health and wellness of children and families and the promotion of literacy and education for all. Submission Date: Accepting children’s health and wellness grant requests and literacy and education grant requests starting February, 2013 and will review them on a rolling basis.
Award Amount: Grants will be a one time contribution and range from $1,000 to $10,000 with the average amount being $1,500. Grace Hill Elementary received a Joint Use Agreement Grant of $10,300 from the Arkansas Department of Education, Coordinated School Health. The grant funds will be used to install a physical fitness course to be utilized by Grace Hill students and the surrounding community with the goal of fighting obesity. A Joint Use Greement will be entered into with the Rogers Community School Recreation Association to provide support in designing, inspecting, and maintaining the Grace Hill fitness course.
